Dr. Johnson Asiama

Dr. Johnson Asiama is internationally recognized as one of Ghana’s foremost economists, with a distinguished track record in monetary policy, financial regulation, and economic strategy. A PhD holder in Economics from the University of Southampton, UK, Dr. Asiama brings over two decades of high-level experience from the Bank of Ghana, where he served in critical leadership and technical roles.

Between April 2016 and January 2018, he served as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, where he was instrumental in crafting and executing forward-looking monetary and financial sector policies aimed at macroeconomic stability. His leadership contributed to meaningful reforms in exchange rate management, liquidity optimization, and the enhancement of Ghana’s financial regulatory architecture.
